Traditional churchyard cemeteries offer a sense of peace and spirituality, a setting which many of our customers have found to be perfect as a resting place for their loved ones.
However, if you choose such an idyllic setting, it’s important that the headstone which you choose for the grave of your loved one reflects and complements the surroundings. Consultation and careful consideration are therefore required before selecting the ideal memorial.
Your parish minister should be able to advise you in regards to choice of stone and inscription, in order to ensure all new gravestones complement their surroundings and do not overpower or overshadow the headstones that have already been installed in the area. Respecting and honouring the memorials that already stand in the area is of the upmost importance.
Honed limestone, slate and granite are popular choices, but polished or mirror finishes are generally not acceptable. Once you have an idea of the specification of your favoured churchyard, you can select the ideal memorial or headstone from our range, and plan your ideal inscription, with a better idea of the limitations.
